The French and Spanish Honor Societies recognize superior achievement in world languages at the intermediate or advanced level and superior academic achievement in a student’s total program. The organizations are designed to promote interest in the study of French and Spanish language and culture. The Société Honoraire de Français and the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica are national organizations with chapters throughout the United States. Moorestown Friends School has had chapters since 1989. Moorestown Friends School begins formal world language instruction in fifth grade. Its world languages program features small classes and individualized instruction, along with an introduction to Latin. Classes are supplemented by international student exchanges and tours. In 2008-09, the school will begin offering instruction in Mandarin Chinese.
