Assemblies

Each year Lower School students experience an exceptional assembly program.  In 2008-09, students met author D.B. Johnson and author/illustrator Floyd Cooper.  The children got to know the “Real” D.W. (Arthur’s sister) and saw performances by the Philharmonic of Southern NJ, the Walnut Street Theatre, Duet Productions and MFS’ own Paper Bag Players.  Students heard renowned story tellers Charlotte Blake Alston and Ellen Musikant and participated in hands-on activities with the Franklin Institute and the Seventh Principle Dance Troupe.  Lower School students got to take center stage during several assemblies including a play about Martin Luther King, Jump Rope for Heart, a 4th grade Service Club presentation, and an assembly about the adventures of Lewis and Clark.
